As I was out peacefully digging in my garden today, Evelyn came outside and said, "Look, Mom, I didn't lock the door!" Then she proudly proceeded to turn the doorknob to show me, and found that she had locked us out of the house! It could have turned out very badly as Eli was taking a nap in the house. But luckily our bedroom window happened to be open, and luckily our nice neighbors had a ladder, and luckily I could climb in the window and unlock the door.
